A speedometer is easiest to trust when it speaks the same unit as the signs, route, waterway, or activity you are using. ClearSpeed GPS lets you switch speed units in settings.

Use MPH for US roads

MPH is the usual speed unit for roads in the United States and a few other places. If road signs around you use miles per hour, MPH keeps the display familiar.

Use KM/H for metric regions

KM/H is common in countries and regions using the metric system. It is also useful for travel when road signs, rental vehicles, or local route information use kilometers per hour.

Use knots for water

Knots are commonly used in marine contexts. ClearSpeed GPS can show knots when you need a simple speed reference on the water, while still keeping the app focused on speed display rather than navigation.

Changing units does not change privacy

ClearSpeed GPS processes location on your device regardless of which unit you choose. No account, ads, analytics SDKs, or tracking are added when you change settings.

Pick the unit your context expects

If you are comparing ClearSpeed GPS with signs, a vehicle display, or another instrument, choose the same unit first. Comparing different units creates unnecessary confusion.
