Speed shows “Searching” or “Weak GPS”

• Move outdoors or near a window with a clear view of the sky, and wait for Good GPS.
• Check that Location Services is on and ClearSpeed is allowed While Using the App (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → ClearSpeed). Turn on Precise Location.
• ClearSpeed hides the number when accuracy is worse than about 30 m. That’s intentional.
• Wi-Fi-only iPads have no GPS receiver and usually can’t show speed while moving.

Speed differs from my car

A small difference is normal; car speedometers usually read a little high. See GPS vs. car speedometer.

Trip time or distance looks short

Measurement pauses when the app isn’t open on screen or GPS is unusable (tunnels, garages). Leave Keep screen awake on in Settings → Display.

Changing units, HUD, and history

• Units: Settings → Units (MPH, KM/H, KT).
• HUD: tap HUD on the main screen, then Mirror. Read HUD safety.
• History: Settings → Trips → History. Clear History removes all saved summaries and can’t be undone.

Useful details to include

• Your iPhone or iPad model and iOS version.
• The display mode: day, night, HUD, or Battery Saver.
• Whether the GPS indicator showed Good, Weak, or Searching.
• What you expected to happen and what happened instead.
